Function: The excess flow cutoff valve allows the quantity of air that is required for smooth operation of compressed air tools to pass through unhindered. However, if the flow increases suddenly, as is typical for a hose fracture or tear, the excess flow cutoff immediately throttles the feed line to the compressed air pipe. Upon replacement of the hose, the excess flow cutoff opens automatically. The hose can thus be prevented from lashing or whipping about. The recommended location for the excess flow cutoff valve is at the joint between the fixed pipeline and the flexible pressure hose, for example, after a maintenance unit.
